When was the last time you were able to go to Las Vegas to experience the joys of casino games? If it’s been a little while, congratulations. There’s now an easy way to enjoy the excitement of casino gaming without an expensive trip to Las Vegas or any other gambling mecca in the country.

Instead of spending your gambling money on a trip, hotel accommodations and the other expenses involved with leaving home, you can enjoy 32 Red Casino. At 32 Red, you have many of the same gaming options that exist at any large casino – but you don’t have to leave your home. Do you even have time to go to Atlantic City or Las Vegas? If you’re like many people, “maybe next year” has been the closest you’ve come to a casino vacation for about a decade now.

Why wait? Why torture yourself by denying all the fun you could be having now, from the comfort of your own home? You deserve to be able to kick back a bit and enjoy some of the Vegas goodness, without the over-priced drinks and strangely damp seats. You can get the best parts of that Vegas feeling, only without having to endure all the downsides to going that far away. And don’t forget how inexpensive it is to game online from home. You don’t even need to pack!

Take advantage of 130 different video slot games. Just like Vegas or Atlantic City, you can choose a game with a huge progressive jackpot – there are 14 different choices. When you play online at 32 Red Casino, you have the added advantage of sign-up and deposit bonuses.

The thrill is exhilarating; spin the wheel, show your hand, and you may reap much more than you sowed. That word may is a small but powerful provision that looms over every game of chance, overseeing the outcome of the game and the money you staked. Most gamblers leave the house happy or disappointed; either way, it was all for fun, and they knew when to call it quits. Do you know when to cash in? Or has the thrill of the win become more than just a game?

What Are the Odds?

Statistically speaking, approximately 2% to 5% of Americans are compulsive gamblers. That may seem like an insignificant amount, but it equals millions of people so consumed with games of chance they’ve developed an addiction as serious as alcohol or drug addiction.

The average divorce rate or compulsive gamblers is doubled compared to non-compulsive gamblers.

One in five compulsive gamblers attempt suicide, which means the compulsive gambler’s suicide rate is twenty times higher than a non-compulsive gambler’s.

The average amount of debt accumulated in a year by a compulsive gambler is $50,000 to $90,000.

Sixty-five percent of compulsive gamblers will commit a crime to support their addiction.

The Compulsive Gambler

Are you a compulsive gambler? The first step in fixing a problem is recognizing that there is one. If you’re:

Consumed with thoughts of gambling;

Neglect work, responsibilities, or relationships;

Gamble to win back lost money;

Seek money from others for gambling;

Become irritable when not gambling;

It could be you. Don’t gamble with your future or your relationships; seek guidance before you become a tragic statistic. Win back your freedom from addiction.

Bonus is one thing we are looking for when we are playing slot. Besides the general online casino bonuses that are used for all online casino games, when we are playing online slot we can also get several other bonuses that can be so profitable for us. The first and most common bonus is a free spin bonus. Just like its name, we are allowed to get some free spins. This bonus can be so beneficial because it means we are having a huge chance to get a jackpot.

The second bonus is hold and spin bonus. The bonus makes some reels to freeze and the frozen panels are having the same icon. With that way, we can get bigger chance to hit jackpot because we only need to spin one or less reels. The third bonus is symbol slide which allows a specific symbol to slide. There are also some other online slot bonuses we can find and if we want to enhance our chance to win a jackpot, make sure that we are choosing best live dealer casino bonuses.

On LiveDealerCasinos.me, we are served with a lot of info on live dealer casino games and bonuses. Not only we will get so many references, but also beneficial information related to online casino.

Many people start betting on sports to make the games more exciting. However if you are not very knowledgeable about betting, it is very likely that you will lose more money from gambling than you will gain.

The first thing for you need to know about gambling is that you should always have a set amount that you are willing to lose. It is important to remember that you are not likely to win every time you lay down a bet. If you planning on betting on several games throughout the season then you should take the sum that you are planning on betting and ration it out accordingly. For example, if you are planning to bet on five games and you have about a hundred dollars to bet, plan to bet about twenty dollars per game.

While betting your favorite sports team might be your first choice, that may not always be the best choice. Everyone knows that one team will not win every game so make sure that you do your homework. Rather than just bet your favorite team, bet for the team that has the highest odds of winning Also look at the statistics for the season before determining who you want to bet for.

It is also important to make sure that you understand the rules and laws of the people that you are betting with. Make sure that you understand how to lay down a bet and if the bet can be changed throughout the game. Betting for sports is very similar to betting when gambling in clubs, so make sure that you understand how to play.

You may not know a thing about betting but with online access to untold betting opportunities you can learn all they could possibly want to know.

Beating the Odds

In the past, most (98 percent) of those placing bets on events lost money. The others (2 percent) were those who used gambling as their profession and put in the time to do all the study necessary to win. Now, with sports betting sites you can just go online and have at your fingertips tips and tricks to beating the odds in whatever venue you decide to participate. You don’t have to go to the horse race to be able to place a bet on it; you just go online.

Tips and Tricks

Not only do sports betting sites help you know the odds but as mentioned above, they also give you tips on how to beat them. One of the best ways to win when gambling online is to use a sports betting site that is approved or recommended by others. There are organizations that review other sites to help people avoid some of the pitfalls with online gambling.

Not All Your Eggs in One Basket

Gambling might be viewed somewhat like investing in that you should not put all your money into one bet. Diversification is better. It spreads the odds over a larger playing field. Online betting really makes the options endless so diversification is easy; all you need is to decide where to place the money. Whether it’s soccer, horse racing or the Super Bowl, spreading out the investment will decrease the chance of losing it all.

It’s been said that many different forms of gambling have been in existence since our earliest human ancestors roamed the earth. For example, those who lived during the Hellenic era (500 – 300 B.C.) had access to cube-like objects likely made from an animal’s knuckles. During the development of Euclid’s geometrical theories in ancient Greece, people could be found playing an early version of crap shoot.

One of the first known Middle Eastern style poker games was referenced around 1890, although many historians have suggested that poker actually began in a small French village. There were also poker-style games that developed simultaneously in Germany and in England. The game didn’t really boom publicly within the United States until the 1930′s, but its popularity spread at the start of the Victorian era. Today, poker style games are extremely popular and you can find a US casino or a UK casino very easily.

The history of sports gambling such as horse racing can be traced back to the 19th century. At that time it was a recreational activity enjoyed by the wealthier classes. Well before the turn of the 20th century, (following the Civil War) it was widely commonplace for people to place wagers on their favorite equines. Gambling on sports festivities is considered illegal within much of the United States. Delaware and New Jersey are two of the exceptions. Betting in is permitted for both of these states in collegiate-level sports (including horse racing) and money pools.

Among the different forms of gambling is the poker slot machine which Sittman and Pitt debuted in 1891 in Brooklyn, New York. But credit is actually given to the German-born American mechanic Charles Fey for modernizing and introducing the Liberty Bell cash slot machine in California in 1894. The fruit logos available in many of today’s casino slot machines were seen in 1912 and fruit-flavored gum was dispensed at that time rather than money.

Everything we have for gambling leisure has a history and shouldn’t be taken for granted. It’s certain these games can continue to be relished.

Smell the scent of money in the air and tang of cocktails on platters carried by mini-skirt wearing waitresses walking all around the banquet room topped to the brim with slot machines, poker tables, blackjack tables, and other such casino games. Think Las Vegas, think Atlantic City, think riverboats, think four-of-a-kinds and two-pairs across the Astroturf table. Think . . . your living room?

Yes, your living room! How is that possible? All you need is an internet connection and the know how to hit the royal flush . . . in cyberspace. Sound like fun?

It’s the latest rage in gambling: online casinos. Specifically a UK casino, in fact. This isn’t about U.S. dollars anymore. Online gambling has gone global. With all of the new innovative options out there, it’s no wonder: live dealers, playing with and against other players, team games, variations, the works.

There are some expert secrets to finding an online casino site that fits your style, too. If you’re simply into the fun no-money aspect of gambling, look for sites that offer what can be called a ‘fun account’ where you don’t actually have to spend any money. In addition, some online sites don’t require a deposit bonus, allowing you to play immediately with whatever money you put in and withdraw all your winnings whenever you want. Quality and convenience.

It’s definitely taking the thrill of gambling and putting it right in your home. Cyberspace just got a little ritzier! If gambling is your thing, put away your gas money, let the car rest in the garage, and enjoy a night out on your desktop or laptop. Hit the royal flush, baby.

The word “gambling” conjures up different images for different people. For some, gambling is a fun recreational activity to be engaged in over spring break or on the occasional weekend. For others, it is an all-consuming activity that brings extreme highs and lows. For family members of compulsive gamblers, gambling is a painful word. For them, gambling represents the loss of household stability, recurring fights and conflicts, and uncertainty about the future.

Deciphering Between Recreational Gambling and Gambling Addiction

Not all gamblers are addicts. Some can plan and enjoy the occasional trip to the casino for a weekend of fun and relaxation. Winnings become an exciting story to tell others and losses are taken with a grain of salt. A recreational gambler only gambles away risk capital. He or she knows that when a bet is placed, the possibility exists that it may be lost.

A gambling addict has a different orientation to gambling. For the addict, gambling represents a compulsive activity to which he or she is tightly bound. Gambling consumes the mind at all times of the day and night. Dreams about enormous riches and glorious futures fill the thoughts. Losses represent catastrophic events. Attempts to recoup losses become an obsession.

Help for Gambling Addicts

Gambling addiction can be treated. It often involves a combination of therapy and medication, if intense anxiety is involved. Family members can assist the recovery process by participating in the therapy sessions and sharing their own personal frustrations with how the gambling has negatively affected their lives. Often, when a recreational gambler becomes an addict, it’s the loved ones who must intervene.

Winning at a casino takes a lot of effort. First, you have to have enough free time to go there in the first place. Then, you have to be able to actually get to it. After that part, you have to make sure you are winning enough to cover the cost of gas to get there and back. By this point, if you are not winning at least one jackpot per trip, you are probably hurting badly from the lost time and the price of your fuel. Your time is worth something, right?

This is why online casinos are great. In an online casino, you can stay home and not spend any money on gas whatsoever. In addition to that, you also have plenty of online casino bonus possibilities to look into. With a bonus, you can magnify the amount of money you can win, and make the most of every jackpot you manage to hit. Through bonuses, you can do a lot with a little.

Because bonuses vary so much, you need to give them some thought. In many cases, you can’t combine the bonuses you can take, so you only get one. With that being the case, you had better make the one you choose count. After all, a bonus can make a huge amount of difference when it comes to how much you can ultimately wager, and thus how much you can ultimately win. Since winning is the ultimate goal here, take your time and pick out the best of the best bonuses. And no matter what you do, never go in with just your bankroll. You should always use a bonus.

A very popular activity, gambling is given different shades in various nations of the world. In some areas, it is joyfully received and this applies to places like the United States and Macau while it is violently abhorred in some other parts like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Either in the region where it is accepted or repelled, gambling has taken a life of its own and has far-reaching effects.

One very obvious effect of gambling is the one it has one local or even national economies in some instances. For example, in states of America like California and Nevada, gambling contributes enormously to the economy. This is not surprising considering the fact that the industry generates employment opportunities for thousands and massive profits for the profits. For many of the billionaire casino operators and gambling gurus, it is more of heaven on earth. The money keeps rolling in and no one wants that to stop.

On the flip side, gambling has damaged many homes, wreaked countless marriages and claimed many lives. Addicts to gambling pay various prices to the games they love. They pay heavily with their money and time. Spending money on gambling has turned out to be financial suicide for many. A husband that cannot provide for the household because of an incorrigible gambling addiction cannot be in the good books of the spouse. A father that prefers to spend time in the gambling house instead of cuddling the kids is also tinkering with divorce. If a spouse is constantly away from home by devoting time, energy and financial resources to gambling, the stress put on marriage may lead to unpalatable consequences.

When talking of profitable business or industries, one that easily comes to mind is gambling. It has been in existence for thousands of years, evolving over time to become the highly sophisticated behemoth that it is today. You can gamble online or in the luxurious casinos of Nevada.

However, looking away from the mega-profits made in the industry, one easily observes the flaws and disadvantages of the art of gambling. These include the devastating effects it has on the finances. A typical long-time gambler will not hesitate to put his monthly salary on a senseless bet without thinking of the repercussions that will come later. Countless number of people have been wrecked because of their gambling habits. In extreme cases, some had to declare bankruptcy stemming from gambling and countless lotto tickets.

Apart from burning a gaping hole in your financial pockets, another disadvantage of gambling is that it is a sheer waste of time. As a well-known saying goes, time is money. You stand a better chance of becoming rich and wealthy by being hardworking and diligent at your work instead of loitering around posh casinos waiting for a hail of dollars. That is a dream that may never come true. The time that some gamblers invest in the activity is both baffling and incredible. Some sleep in casinos and do not go home.

Chronic gamblers make poor businesspersons as they are too busy playing the cards to set up an appointment that can land them the millions they earnestly desire. Even though it can be seen as fun, you can get hurt or even killed while indulging in gambling. As the activity usually involves money, hot arguments may degenerate into serious scuffles.

Most likely, if you know that an individual is out there to fleece you of your hard-earned money, you will do all in your capacity to ensure that the scammer does not succeed. However, in numerous but bizarre cases, it is the individual that takes the money to the scammer without knowing it. Another name for this is gambling. In this game or recreational activity as some people will call it, you will have to purchase a ticket or at least make a some form of payment before you can be allowed to gamble and ‘try your luck’ to see if hundreds of millions of dollars can land on your laps on a hot afternoon just because you selected a set of numbers!

Without any doubt, this is an interesting event and it has happened to many people in the past and present. It is the possibility of becoming a millionaire overnight without breaking sweat that has turned millions into life-long gamblers. For some, gambling is now an addiction, wreaking havoc in various spheres of life. There is no point in putting money constantly in a venture that may never yield anything.

Even though it cannot be denied that some mega-winners emerge from time to time, the odds against a gambler are so great that it can be regarded as an orchestrated but systematic swindling. The gambler keeps paying to the house for decades but that does not guarantee hitting a jackpot. The casino owners keep smiling to their no-tax banks in Cayman Islands and Bermuda while you keep on piling bad credit with the vain hope of ‘hitting it big’ one day.

Every single day, in various parts of the globe, millions of gamblers cram themselves in casinos, pools and all sorts of gambling venues to do what they know how to do best – gambling. Some people are so addicted to the practice that they find it almost impossible not to indulge.

However, when you look beyond the surface, you will see that gambling is one of the most wasteful ventures that anyone can embark on. There are professional gamblers who have been in the business for decades, but an overwhelming majority of them ends up poorer than before. But, the irony is that the glittering casinos and gambling resorts keep posting profits and opening up new branches. Thus, you can guess yourself who the real winner is.

Even though there is absolutely no problem with indulging in what will give you pleasure and comfort, gambling is an activity that will leave you in a state that you never imagined. Many workers are now bankrupt owing to a not-too-enticing lifestyle of gambling. Instead of buying those lottery tickets over and over again in the vain hope of winning, there are investments that you can make and rake in real profits. With time, you may even become a millionaire from your little enterprise.

To set up a commercial enterprise, there are various business investors and managers that you can approach for advice, suggestions and opinions. Gambling can be seen as another way or style of donating money to the casino operators, as it is the house that wins almost all the time. After seeing that if you continue to gamble, you have more to lose instead of gain; the wise thing to do is to stop wasting.

If you have been fortunate enough to meet a gambler, you may end up becoming one in no time if care is not taken. This is due the fact that some gamblers are so passionate and defensive about the practice so much so that they preach strongly in support of the activity that has sent many down the drain. Irrespective of whatever benefits and advantages that gambling is alleged to have, one irrefutable fact is the damage it does to your financial status.

To gamble, you need to spend, no matter how little or large. However, it has been observed that quite a number of people get addicted to the games and keep on playing. Some play for decades without winning anything tangible. But, they keep on playing with the hope that the day will come when they will hit the jackpot. Before that day comes, you may end up neck deep in bankruptcy.

One of the most negative financial practices that you can embark on is gambling. A vast majority of gamblers all over the globe lose their life savings and investments by playing poker and all sorts. It is no longer news that hardened gamblers can throw away life investments in a matter of minutes when in the casino, all in a bid to impress others or win. Except for the extremely lucky few, some of who also end up in debt in a short while, gambling is akin to flushing money down the drain.

Observation and years of research has shown that in gambling, the arrangement is skewed in such a way that the house keeps winning most of the time. It is almost impossible to win the house. In other words, by gambling, you are simply giving your money to the casino operators and that is a pitiful way of investing.

In our world today, millions of people are addicted to one activity or the other. Some are addicted to drinking, television, the Internet and even games. Talking of addictions, one of the most serious ones around is that of gambling. Gambling is an industry that rakes in profits running into billions of dollars on an annual basis. The glittering casinos and gambling houses of Las Vegas bear an eloquent testimony to this. Becoming addicted to gambling is not the end of the world as there are steps that you can take to help yourself.

In overcoming addiction to gambling, one very important step that you have to take is to draw up a spending plan. This is to make you more responsible financially and accountable as well. In such a plan, you budget all what you have to purchase to the last cent and you ensure that gambling is totally left out of the plan. Once the plan has been drawn up, you have to be disciplined enough for you to stick to the plan. If you do not spend a dime in the casinos, there is no way you will end up as a gambler.

However, you should know that the fact that you have decided to draw up a plan does not mean that you have a magic wand to overcome the scourge of gambling. After the plan, another crucial step that you need to take is to keep away from tempting spots. These surely includes the shimmering gambling houses, casinos, poker tables and anywhere you can be tempted to play a game.

To ensure that all your measures work and bring nice results, another thing that you can do is to call on friends and relatives to help you. This they can do by monitoring you and ensuring that you do not overstep the limits that you have set for yourself.

Anyone who wants to take gambling serious needs to start out with the understanding that the odds are against you. All those fancy casinos weren’t built with the money that people won at the games, they were built with the money that people lost. The whole system is designed to take your money away from you as painlessly as possible.

All games in a casino, whether online or a physical casino are intended to return a percentage to the casino. What that means is that for every dollar you play, the “house” expects to make a profit. How much of a profit the house is expecting to make depends upon the game; it can range anywhere from 0.6% all the way up to 30%. In other words, for every $100.00 you bet, they are planning on you keeping anywhere from 60 cents to 30 dollars.

Granted, this is all based upon averages, so there are some people who will actually win more than they lose, but most of the people will lose more than they will win. With the huge quantity of money that is gambled in the average casino, even the 0.8% the house wins off of Blackjack can run up to an enormous quantity of money.

Of all the games in a casino, the most popular is Blackjack, that’s because of the mistaken notion that you stand a greater chance of winning at blackjack. Granted, you do stand a greater chance of winning at blackjack than you do at roulette, but that doesn’t mean you stand a great chance of winning, the house is still expecting to take 0.8% of your money. It isn’t that you stand a greater chance of winning as much as it is that you stand a chance of losing less; not quite the same thing.

So, if you insist on gambling, make sure you know the odds; expect to lose, that way, if you actually win something, it’ll be a nice surprise. Never go with the idea of winning enough to make the house payment, you’ll literally be betting your house away.

In ancient Greek mythology there was a creature called a chimera. This fanciful, impossible creature was made of the parts of several animals, which gave it three heads. It would appear and disappear; vanishing into thin air should any try to touch it.

Winning at gambling is much like that chimera. Should you manage to grab it, you have gained something great and powerful, which can change the course of your life. Yet, for many, just as they were reaching out to grab their winnings, their luck vanished like the chimera.

It is the hope of being the one to successfully grab the chimera which keeps people gambling. Nobody thinks of losing, only winning. In a sense, the gambler is the eternal optimist; convinced that the sun will rise over them, even while it is raining on everyone else. Every gambler goes to the tables convinced that this is their day to win.

While I understand the value of a positive mental attitude, I’d like to propose another attitude for gambling. That is, never gamble more than you can afford to lose. To be more specific, look at your gambling as a hobby. Most people don’t spend their mortgage payment and the money for the phone bill on their hobby. Well, neither should you. If you are going to gamble, make yourself a budget, and stick to it. When you’ve lost what you decided you can afford to lose, it’s time to call it quits.

Don’t get suckered into the thought pattern of “if I just play one more hand, I can win it back;” you won’t. Oh yeah, statistically there is a possibility that you can win it back in that one hand; but the statistical possibility is so small that your might as well call it non-existent.

We’ve all heard the stories about some lucky stiff, who goes to Las Vegas or Atlantic City, makes a wild bet, and comes home a millionaire. It’s stories like that which fuel the gambling industry, and industry it is, taking in more than 90 billion dollars a year in revenue (over and above what is returned to the gamblers in winnings). Compared to that, the measly million that our lucky stiff won really isn’t much at all.

While I’m relatively sure that these myths are based on fact, I’m also sure that like any myth, they’ve grown in the retelling. Maybe we could say that those myths have even had some help in growing and spreading. After all, it’s to the benefit of the gambling industry to tell the stories of the winners. That’s the best advertising they’ve got going for them; especially if the story can be told in such a way that Joe Sixpack is suckered into thinking that he can make a killing too.

The gambling industry works hard to make the most of these winners. Every one of them is publicized to the max. Not only that, but they get free hotel rooms for the rest of their lives, so that they can come back and lose it again. When they come back, and most do, they are treated as if they were arriving celebrities; at least, they’re treated that way until they lose their winnings.

You’ve got to realize that casinos, whether online or in some physical building you walk into, don’t exist so that you can make money, but so that they can make money. For each person who walks away a big winner, there are tens or hundreds of thousands of people who walk away with empty pockets. It has to happen that way, otherwise there’s no money to pay off the occasional big winner.

Since the rise in popularity of the Internet, a myriad of new and innovative business have sprung into being. Many highly successful web sites have been imitated, or copied and changed, in order to make a new online experience. Amongst these is the phenomenon of online auctions.

As best I can tell, e-Bay both started the online auction craze and is currently the largest single website hosting online auctions. However, there are a number of copycat sties out there, such as penny auctions.

Penny auctions derive their name from the idea that each bid raises the “win price” of the item by one cent. However, you don’t bit a penny, nor do you bid one cent more than the current price. The way penny auctions work is that you buy a “packet” of bids. This packet costs you about 60 cents a bid. So, if you buy 100 bids, it costs you $60.00. Each time you bid, it costs you on bid, or 60 cents. If there is less than 10 seconds left on the clock when somebody bids, then another ten seconds is added to the clock.

As I watched one of the penny auctions one day, I saw a Passport 230 GB external hard drive sell for a final bid of $12.67; a Toshiba 40” 1080p LCD HDTV go for a final bid of $73.90; and a Xbox 360 250 GB Elite Controller sell for $43.18. Sounds great, until you figure out how much the auction company made on those items.

For the three items I just mentioned, the online auction company took in a minimum of 3.7 times the retail price of the item. In the case of the Xbox, it was just short of 6 times the retail price. That’s why I call it a gamble. When you bid, you don’t know if you’re going to win or not. Whether or not you win depends upon the other people bidding on that same item. You might get a bargain, or you might just throw your money away. Like I said, it sounds like gambling to me.

I had a friend, who was a highly respected professional in the state department of education, in the state where he lived. He was married, had a college-aged daughter, a nice home, money in the bank, and a position in the leadership of his church. On top of all this, my friend had started a non-profit organization, which he was the head of.

Everything seemed to be going right for this friend of mine. Then, another couple, who were friends of theirs, suggested that they go for the weekend to a casino on an Indian reservation. They talked it over, decided that they could afford to lose a little, set their budget, and went off to have a good time for the weekend.

Unfortunately, gambling has a draw that isn’t really obvious until it sinks its claws into you. That draw is the desire to be the big winner. It is that desire which causes people to gamble money they can’t afford, knowing that the odds are against them, but still seeing the chance of winning.

Well, my friend went through his budgeted allocation for losing that weekend a little faster than he wanted to. “No problem,” he thought, “I’ll just go over to the ATM machine and get myself a little more money.” He didn’t bother telling his wife, and since he handled their finances, she had no way of knowing. Of course, he went through that money as well, and left the casino at the end of the weekend as a loser.

These two couples started going to that casino every month. To them, it was an inexpensive way of getting away for a fun filled weekend. Unfortunately, my friend became somewhat obsessed with winning. In fact, he became addicted to gambling. Every time they went, he ended up pulling a little more out of their savings than he had the month before.

It wasn’t long before he lost his entire life’s savings. Because of that, he lost his wife, his daughter, his home, his happiness, and his good name. Was it really worth the price?

Once upon a time, you had to go to Las Vegas, or Atlantic City to do your gambling. Now, in the new friendlier world, you only have to go to your corner convenience store in order to get that thrill of throwing your money away. State governments have decided to jump into the gambling profit pot with both feet and get their share of the pie.

Most people don’t really look at the lottery as gambling, but it is. Not only is it gambling, but in most cases, it’s a form of gambling that is based purely upon random chance. Any skill or system the individual might have is rendered worthless by the randomness of the number draw. Oh, I know that people talk about having a “system” for the lottery and some have even written books about it, but the reality of the situation is that it is based upon random chance.

Since lottery tickets are mostly bought by poor and lower-middle class people, it has essentially become a tax on the poor. That’s somewhat ironic, as the Democrats, who make themselves out to be the champions of the poor are also the ones who have pushed to have the lottery in the several states of our union.

Like any form of gambling, the lottery can become addictive. There’s always that chance that the next ticket will be your big winner; you just need to buy one more. At least, if the tickets could talk, that’s what they’d say.

Just as marijuana tends to lead its users into trying harder drugs, so the lottery leads its participants into trying more serious forms of gambling. Just like any other addiction, it feeds upon itself, drawing the victim deeper and deeper in, until that individual is consumed by the addiction. Don’t think the lottery is harmless; it can quite easily lead one to much greater harm. Once it gets hold of you, it won’t let go.

While gambling for fun and enjoyment is acceptable, many a times it does not remain that way and slowly it graduates into a more disturbing level and becomes an addiction. Addiction to gambling is one of the many problems associated with gaming activities be it casinos or online gambling or sports gambling. Addiction to gambling is a pathological disorder and more of a behavioral disturbance.

This is a dangerous disorder if it is not treated early and this one reason is enough to totally damage families and relationships. People suffering from this disorder often derive extreme pleasure in gambling and it makes their adrenaline pump up whenever they are into gambling activities. Absence from gambling makes them irritable and restless and often leads to violent emotional outbursts. There are have many instances where a nice person who has fallen victim to this addiction, involves himself in acts hitherto unknown to his family.

These could be stealing money from the house, kids, wife, and parents and also speaking lies without any rhyme or reason. There are essentially four groups under which people who are into gambling can be classified. They are recreational gamblers who gamble for fun, professional gamblers who make a living out of it, and anti-social gamblers who gamble to create trouble. While the above three groups can be tackled easily, the fourth group consists of people who are addicted to gambling.

This is the group which needs immediate medical attention. Unless it is treated these people deteriorate progressively. They reach such a stage that they do not recognize the fact that money is being drained out from him or his family. They keep losing heavily in the gambling sessions and to make this up they get involved into many illegal and immoral activities. So it has to be nipped in the bud before it goes out of control and completely destroys the human being in question.

To some, the need to gamble is an addiction. There is nothing that can replace the need to feel the rush of winning, or losing, everything. There are some that believe that when someone is suffering from a gambling addiction, there is no need to worry about it bleeding over in to other addictions. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The fact is that an addiction to gambling is, at it’s very core, the same as any other addiction. It’s about letting something take you over and make you helpless. It’s about giving in to something powerful that provides a feeling that you think you need. The same way an alcoholic numbs pain, a gambler uses the roll of the dice or a bet on a game as a way to numb their own personal pain. While it might seem like a different beast, it’s just the same beast manifesting itself in different ways.

The scary thing about an addiction to gambling, besides the addiction itself, is what is can lead to. When the need to numb the pain through gambling isn’t enough on a given day, this can lead to other addictions. What will the addict do to numb the pain? Will gambling turn to alcoholism? Do not forget that in most places that feature gambling also feature alcohol. It’s a readily available, and it’s so easy to turn to.

For the addict, it’s important to get help to treat both addictions. Finding help is easy these days by visiting sites like Rehab-International.org. They can find which rehab facilities treat specific needs. The most important thing about rehab is the specific addictions. A gambler might feel helpless against the addiction, but that doesn’t mean he is. There are a lot of ways to treat the addiction for both gambling and alcohol. Help can be found.

When it comes to gambling odds and winning, people may theorize that it’s not necessarily the manner in which a game is played but the game itself. To a degree, there may be some relevance to this. In many cases experienced casino-goers are acutely aware of the games that have more chances of winning a wager.

There are many variations of Poker and the more know-how players execute, the better the gambling odds are in their favor. Get familiar with the game. If you still doubt your skills, practice playing a few hands before you head to the casino. Once there, if you think you are fighting a losing battle, knowing when to resort to bluffing can be a successful method to break the concentration of fellow participants. Don’t cheat, but look fierce.

Blackjack, (like Poker) is a widely-played card game which involves the premise that players must get as close to 21 without going over it. Additionally, the car dealer’s number must be lower than that of the participant. Card counting is a practice that gives players a small percentage of advantage towards better gambling odds. Although this is not illegal it’s possible that any player not using discretion will be excused from the game.

Those of us who enjoy “rolling the dice” have heard of craps. This is a game which requires players to end up with a certain number from two to 12 using combinations of dice. The number seven has the most possibilities. Usually, in craps it’s best to wager a smaller amount and expect fewer wins. When and if you are a winner stop playing, since the casino will typically win most of the rounds.

Although gambling odds may not always be to our advantage, it’s helpful to be knowledgeable about the rules of the game and when to fold your hand. Good things can expire before you’ve had the chance to enjoy them. They can come in smaller packages.

Before attending gambling rehab centers, it’s important to consider whether or not staff members have the necessary tools and experience available to treat gambling addiction. For example, consider how many patients they have treated this year or within the past year. Keep in mind the success rate that rehabilitation can offer and discuss this with the staff members. Each person’s results vary, but it’s important to be honest about concerns and inquire about unique effects of the program if protocol is followed.

It’s imperative to understand that gambling habits not only impact individuals, but their families as well. Therefore, it might be necessary to explore the resources available for family counseling. The environment that families are accustomed to will likely need to change in order to help accommodate the eradication of gambling addiction.

Many times inadequate insurance coverage and exorbitant monetary cost can impact the decision to proceed with professional intervention. In fact, it’s not unusual for gambling rehab centers to cost approximately $20,000 each month for out-of-pocket private assistance. Even so, there are public assistance programs available to those who qualify and in some cases, medical care can be sought for free. Check with the local or national gambling rehab centers and if unsuccessful, request a second opinion. Remember that not everyone has all of the up-to-date information.

For some perspective patients, personal security within a group treatment setting is a major factor when selecting a rehabilitation location. Taking a highly sensitive issue (gambling addiction) to a more public forum takes great courage; therefore, it would make sense that many addicts would only commit themselves to gambling
rehab centers with impeccable professional credentials.

Although there are infinite choices available to combat gambling problems, we must remember to choose the best option we can manage. “If we do what we’ve always done, we’ll get what we’ve always gotten.” Personal reservations are normal, but enrolling in gambling rehab centers are an asset toward the patient’s future.

Taking a taxi to your hotel will cost you about $15 – 20. If you do decide to take a taxi, be sure to tell your driver not to take the freeway. The freeway will add dollars to your fare because it’s less direct, but some cab drivers will take you there anyway to rack up a higher fare. Taxis are a very efficient way to get to your strip hotel. Shuttle buses are cheaper and cost around $6, but you may spend an hour on the shuttle bus before you get to your hotel. If you’re traveling in a group, you can arrange for limousine transportation. You can all split the cost of a limousine, which will have a total cost of around $60. If you have six or more, this is actually cheaper than taking a taxi, but you’ll need to be going to the same hotel (or hotels located in close proximity to each other). Certain express buses will take you from the airport to downtown for only $2. They’re a well-kept Las Vegas secret. Do your research to ensure they’ll be stopping near your hotel.
2.)	Don’t expect to be able to flag down a taxi on the Vegas strip.
Taxis are not allowed to stop on the strip. You won’t be able to flag one down, even if you’re a New York native. You’d be better off going to the designated taxi zone of your hotel and getting one there. Cab fare can get expensive, so why not see if anyone in your hotel is going to the same casino as you?
3.) Don’t be afraid to walk. The entire strip may look immense, but it’s only four miles long. You’d walk the same amount of miles at a theme park. It sure beats pricy cab fares. You’ll discover the strip better on foot, anyway. Just be sure to pack comfortable shoes.

Have you looked at your life and realized you have a gambling problem? Have you lost the trust of your loved ones? Have you emptied your bank account and put yourself in debt? If yes, congratulations for researching options to seek help. If you answered no but are still troubled about your gambling habits, congratulations for seeking help before your life is torn asunder by a severe gambling addiction. The following are treatment options for problem gamblers. Don’t be afraid to use these resources. Gambling is a serious addiction. Don’t treat it lightly.

No one can force you to change unless you’re ready. When you’re ready to admit you may have a problem, consider giving the National Council on Problem Gambling a call. Their gambling help line is confidential and secure. The National Council on Problem Gambling can offer advice, support, or resources in order to start defeating your gambling addiction. Their number is 1-800-522-4700.

For a tried-and-true answer to gambling addiction, check out your local chapter of Gamblers Anonymous. Gamblers Anonymous is based off of the successful alcohol addiction therapy program Alcoholics Anonymous. Gamblers Anonymous follow a twelve-step program aimed at kicking the gambling habit for good. Participants join up with a sponsor. The sponsor will be a former gambler who has found success through the Gamblers Anonymous program and can now offer support, knowledge, and experience to gambling addicts.

Cognitive-behavorial therapy may be another option. This therapy focuses on changing how the brain reacts to gambling. Your therapist will help you to relieve stress, frustration, or unpleasant emotions through means other than gambling. A therapist can help you see gambling in a different light, instead of as an “escape” or “solution.” If you’re in one-on-one counseling, a therapist can also create a program tailored especially towards your own personal needs, desires, and weaknesses.

Gambling addiction is a serious thing. Many people do not see it as a big deal, but realistically it can be just as detrimental to a person, and their relationships, as any other addiction. In fact, for some, a gambling addiction is basically just a gateway to other addictions.

Casinos, where you will generally find those with a gambling addiction, can unfortunately lead to other problems. Many times, there is free alcohol for those that are gambling. This can lead to getting drunk, and then gambling even more. Many times, the two go hand in hand, and when a person has an addiction to gambling, you will frequently find that they also have an alcohol addiction. In some circumstances, you may even find that a gambling addiction can lead to other drug addictions as well.

If you find that you are having a hard time with gambling and/or drugs, and you are concerned that you are dealing with addiction, there are ways to get help. You may find that a drug abuse rehab facility is a good option for you. They can help with the drug addiction and the gambling addiction at the same time. They can also help you understand why you are drawn to these things, and why they have become an addiction for you.

Not everyone that gambles is suffering from an addiction. Understanding the difference between something you enjoy doing and something that is an addiction is crucial to being able to get adequate help. If your gambling is getting in the way of relationships, work or even other interests, you may want to consider seeking help. Another way to tell if you are dealing with an addiction is if you find that friends and family are making comments about your gambling. Talk with someone you trust if you feel that you have a problem.

Convenience is the name of the game when you’re smack in the middle of a cyberspace Las Vegas, like playing slots with Tron or poker with Neo. Why are online casino games so popular?

Everyone used to make it a special outing to head for the local casino or a vacation to Nevada to win the millions. Now it’s easier than getting out of bed. Put on your slippers and head to the computer room—or better yet, grab the laptop or notebook and sit in bed while watching some CSI: Miami on TV, and you’ll be playing poker or blackjack in no time. It’s no surprise that online casino gaming has become so popular and will increase in popular every day. It now even spans the whole world. Wherever there’s Internet, you can play poker as if you had taken a flight out to the hottest casino in the country! The internet is capable of many great things.

Some of the more popular games out there are pretty obvious: the slot machines, poker and all of its variants, and blackjack. There are several others, but these typically sit at the top. Unfortunately as with traditional machines, slots require no skill or training. It’s purely chance. So there’s no tip to help you with winning the big bucks. With poker and blackjack, it’s a different story. Learn the strategies of when to call and when to raise, what hands are a better hit and what hands are best to fold. Blackjack is about numbers, so know how much to bet for the numbers sitting, and you might win gradually. As always, it takes practice, practice, practice.

These online casino games will be around for a very long time. As long as they stay this convenient, they might even put traditional casinos out of business! Only time will tell.

Gambling doesn’t have to be an unsafe vice all the time. With enough foresight and balance, you can enjoy gambling as a past-time the way some people like to enjoy a movie or even play video games. Of course, if you think you have a gambling problem, you should refrain from all gambling in any form. However, there are ways to gamble responsibly if you follow some simple guidelines for going out.

The most important rule for making sure that you’re not going to turn social gambling into a problem is treating any card playing or roulette table as just another form of disposable entertainment instead of a way to possibly hit it big. While it’s possible to make some money while gambling, the best way to look upon the activity is the fun you’re having for money you’re willing to lose. Just like the $15 you spend on a movie ticket will never be repaid, the money you’re willing to spend on a night at the slots should be looked upon as an acceptable price for the entertainment you’ll get out of it.

Second of all, set a limit to how much you’re willing to gamble. If you go into a situation where you know you only have, say, $100 to spend, you won’t get carried away and you’ll be less tempted to pull out another $20 bill when things are heating up. Limiting how much you’re willing to spend gives yourself a tangible limit and also can help you play more conservatively, helping your set amount of money go further.

Lastly, always limit your alcohol intake when gambling. Alcohol is known to reduce judgment and inhibitions – two things without which can turn a fun night of gambling into a problem spiraling out of control. Some drinking may be socially acceptable when gambling but know your limits – have one beer or one glass of wine and no more. You’ll keep your head clear and your wallet fuller.

What is “gambling addiction?”
Gambling addiction, or “compulsive gambling,” is classified as an impulse-control disorder. Gambling addicts are completely incapable of controlling their gambling impulses. A compulsive gambler will continue to gamble even if their credit cards are maxed out and their bank account is completely depleted. They cannot deny their impulse to gamble. Gambling begins to consume their thoughts and control their life until everything revolves around gambling, earning money for gambling, or going to gamble.
What is “problem gambling?”
Problem gambling, on the other hand, is not as serious as a gambling addiction, but it is no less harmful on your life. Problem gambling occurs when your gambling interferes with your daily life. If you choose to gamble instead of your every day obligations or gamble away more money than you should, you’re experiencing problem gambling. You may not be completely out of control yet, but you still have a problem.
I don’t gamble every day. Could I still have a gambling problem?
Many people picture a compulsive gambler slumped at a craps table or spending every day at the races. Contrary to popular belief, you can still have a gambling problem even if you don’t gamble every single day. No matter how frequently you gamble, if your gambling puts a strain on you, your loved ones, your relationships, your career, or your bank account, you have a gambling problem. Even if your bank account is not at risk and your financial situation affords you plenty of money for gambling, if it becomes a compulsion, it is problem gambling. The amount of wealth a gambler has should not play a factor in determining if a gambler has a problem.
Finally, remember that gambling addiction is a serious addiction. Don’t write it off or treat it less seriously than you would a drug or alcohol addiction. Compulsive gamblers need action and attention.

Watching Poker on TV sounds like something that would be boring, but if you’ve ever watched a Poker tournament on TV, you know it is actually quite entertaining. This is because back in 1997, the poker cam was invented to show the viewers what cards each player is holding. The game would actually be pretty boring to watch without this little piece of technology.

Another thing that makes watching Poker on TV entertaining is the fact that Poker players can be quite cocky at times, and they often taunt the other players, all in good fun of course. Some players, on the other hand, keep mostly to themselves. This make for a very dynamic atmosphere that can be surprising, not to mention entertaining.

The most popular type of Poker is Texas Hold’em, and this is also the most widely broadcast form of the game on TV. Texas Hold’em is when each player has two cards in their hand and five community cards are dealt out to the center of the table. The players can use any combination of cards in their hand and on the table to make up their hand. The object of the game is to have the highest hand and get all of your opponents to either fold or put more money into the pot.

ESPN is the biggest Poker broadcaster. They always televise The World Series of Poker and any major Poker championship that are played in the United States, as well as some international Poker tournaments. Other Poker shows include the World Poker Tour, Celebrity Poker, Pokerstars, Poker Royale, Ultimate Poker Challenge, and Poker After Dark, just to name a few. Poker on TV has helped revenue at casinos as well because people want to try their luck at the game. You’ll always see those custom poker tables at the casinos in action.

You can’t make a change in your life for the better until you recognize if you have a problem with gambling. Millions of people gamble each year for entertainment, but a small fraction of them (about 1 percent) are addicted to gambling – the gaming is more than just entertainment for them. They feel an overwhelming need to play out just one more hand until the games encroach on other parts of their lives.

So how do you know if you or someone you love has a gambling problem? First of all, if you think you may have a problem with gambling, you probably do. Recognition of the problem is the first step in overcoming your addiction. The subject can become a little more delicate when dealing with someone else who has a problem. Someone who may have a gambling problem will likely have trouble agreeing that what they’re doing is troublesome, and it could help to point out some of the most obvious effects that the gaming is having on them.

Gambling is a problem when it effects the non-gaming parts of your life. If you are losing sleep (either staying up later or getting up much earlier than usual) on a regular basis because of gambling, then you are probably addicted. Change of diet- particularly, when someone skips meals- due to being at the tables is another sign that one has a gambling problem.

Secrecy or shame related to gambling is a surefire sign that someone is addicted to gambling. Whether they download applications on their smartphones so they can surreptitiously participate in an online tournament while at work or they lie about how much money they’ve spent in their latest bout of cards, someone who feels like they have to cover up a part of their entertainment is probably an addict who needs help.

Gambling addiction has become a bigger problem than ever before. While about 1 percent of gamblers end up having a problem with their gambling affecting others parts of their lives, the number of people who gamble has increased exponentially within the last decade. With the rise of the online poker websites and other online gambling opportunities, the lure of gambling has reached many more people than ever before. Online access to gaming also makes it easier to hide your activities from loved ones, meaning it’s easier for the bad habits that create addictions to take hold.

If your gambling problem is exacerbated by the ease of using online computer programs to play your games, try to limit your computer use. If you’re computer savvy, there are actually several browsers and computer sites that can help limit the type of sites you can visit. Because these types of limitations are entirely self created, they can also be disabled. However, taking away the ease of access that makes it so easy to relapse into a gambling problem can help to curb the urge to gamble that is created by boredom.

The easiest way to cut gambling out of your life is to make sure you don’t have time for it. Making a schedule of your daily activities and tasks can ensure that you don’t have the requisite time to become bored enough to resort to gambling. Scheduling tasks throughout the day holds you accountable to your decision to stop gambling.

Reward yourself for making progress. For every milestone you make by not gambling for a set amount of time – whether that time period is a day or a week. Rewards can be anything tangible you give yourself that is considered a treat. Maybe a piece of candy, an hour of indulgent television or some other treat that is realistic and encouraging. And remember – even if you lapse, you have another chance. That chance is tomorrow.

What is “gambling addiction?”
Gambling addiction, or “compulsive gambling” is classified as an impulse-control disorder.
What is “problem gambling”?

While no less serious than a drug or alcohol addiction, a gambling addiction may be much harder to spot than a drug or alcohol addiction because there aren’t nearly as many physical signs. Compulsive gamblers also try to hide their gambling at all costs. Their loved ones may have no idea how often they gamble. Gamblers will lie about where they’ve been when they’ve been gambling. They will usually withdraw from all their friends and family in order to better hide their gambling habit. Gamblers will also downplay their losses in order to hide how much they’ve spent gambling.

Red Flags for Spotting a Gambling Problem

Do you have trouble keeping money in your bank account because you keep gambling it away? Do you have trouble paying your bills because of your gambling habits? Have you borrowed money to pay for your gambling? Have you started selling off your possessions or stealing to pay for your gambling? You should consider seeking help.

Are your friends and family concerned about your gambling habits? Don’t shrug it off. They’re concerned for a reason. Sometimes the hardest step is admitting to your family and friends that you have a problem and you need help. Reevaluate your gambling habits if people are concerned about you and your well-being.

Do you try to hide your gambling from your friends and family? Do you lie about going gambling or how much you lost? Do you borrow money and not tell them what it’s for? Can you walk away from the gambling table? Can you stop gambling if you still have money in your wallet? When you lose, does it increase your desire to keep on gambling in order to “win back” your losses?

If you or your loved one may have a gambling problem, seek help. Don’t blow off a gambling addiction. It’s a serious problem.

You can provide support and guidance to someone with a serious gambling problem, but you cannot force them. It’s like the old saying: you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. You can lead a gambler to therapy, but you can’t make it sink in. The only person who can change a gambling problem is the compulsive gambler. They must be willing to change before change can take effect. By keeping this in mind, you’ll save yourself a lot of heartache and misery. The following tips can help you help the gambling addict in your life.

1.)	Do not give the problem gambler any more money. At the very least, don’t give any with no strings attached. If you want to be financially supportive until they get back on their feet, pay their bills directly. Do not write blank checks. Write checks made out specifically to the benefactor. Buy grocery or gas gift cards. Cash is out of the question. Be extremely careful about this, however. It may help the gambler to be completely alone in sorting out finances. This way he can learn sound financial habits.

2.)	If you share finances, take over the account. You are now solely in charge of financial decisions. It may hurt to inform the gambler of this decision, but it’s a very necessary step in preserving your life and your credit. Don’t let yourself get into debt. If you already are in debt, cut back until everything is paid off.

3.)	Help yourself first. Take your own personal money or savings and put it in a separate account. Do not go into debt for someone else. You can’t help anyone unless you’re stable. Make sure you are mentally and physically capable of supporting someone else through such a difficult and taxing ordeal.

Confronting your spouse’s gambling addiction may be one of the hardest things you’ll have to do in your life, but once you’ve put it behind you, your entire life will be so much brighter. Remember that you not alone. You are not the only spouse or partner who has ever had to endure this. Here are some tips to help you deal with your spouse’s gambling addiction.
1.)	Take over all family finances. While it may hurt, this is the only way to preserve your family’s lifestyle and credit. You must ensure all bills get paid. Watch your balances closely. Don’t confront your spouse about every little withdrawal, but you need to be on alert for signs of gambling activity.
2.)	Understand that treatment is a necessary and potentially lengthy process. No one cures a gambling addiction in a day. It may take plenty of time before you’re finally over the hurdle. Stay positive and support all therapeutic efforts.
3.)	Explain the concept of gambling and compulsive gambling to your children. Do not vilify your spouse. Be as neutral and objective as possible.
4.)	Stay positive and calm. Confronting or attacking your spouse will do nothing. You must be supportive. Yelling or raving will not be a constructive solution.
5.)	Seek communities of other spouses or partners. Your spouse is not the only one who needs support, guidance, and a friendly ear. Look for online forums or blogs. You’ll find a community who can give you the strength to carry on through this difficult time. Look for local chapters of Gamblers Anonymous, they may have resources for families of problem gambling.
6.)	Be honest and open with your spouse or partner about seeking help for yourself. Do not hide it from them. It will only hurt them more when they find out. Besides, it may help them better understand how serious their own gambling problem is.

1.)	Utilize the Player’s Clubs. Every time you visit a casino, find the Player’s Club center and sign up for a player’s card. The cards are free to sign up and the casinos will send you anything from travel offers to free hotel room coupons. It’ll save a lot of money on your next trip to Vegas.
2.)	Ask about complimentary bonuses. Oftentimes playing at a table or slot machine will earn you free bonus items, like free show tickets, buffets, store discounts, or hotel room discounts. Ask about these potential benefits at the Player’s Club desk. If you’re going to be playing at that casino anyway, you’ll be glad you did.
3.) Set a limit and stick to it. Walk into every casino with a set limit on what you’re going to spend and stick to it, no exceptions. This is where your own discipline will be tested. If you’ve weakened and spent more gambling than you intended in the past, walk in with cash. Bring only the set amount you want to spend. When it’s gone, it’s gone. Never, ever gamble more than you can afford to spend.
4.)	Keep a set amount of your winnings. Every time you win, take a set amount of those winnings and put them aside. Do not touch that pile until you cash in. This way, you’ll ensure you’re not walking away with nothing. Choose a number (25%, 50%, 75%) and set aside that percentage of your winnings.
5.)	Avoid the slot machines. The slots may seem like a safe way to gamble, but you’re actually losing more money per time spent at the machine when compared to the tables. Slot machines don’t have great odds and it’s easier to spend much more money on a slot machine when you’re just dropping in quarters.

Chris Moneymaker (yes that is really his name) did it a few years ago. He qualified for the biggest showcase in poker by playing online, and then went on to win it all, along with $2.5 million.

His rise to fame in the poker world has caused a huge burst in interest in the game. The top prize for the WSOP Main Event is now over $8 million, with over 7,000 players taking part this past year. Players have to put up $10,000 just to participate, but Moneymaker earned his entry by winning an online tournament sponsored by PokerStars.com.

While he got his shot at fame through a game on the internet, do not be fooled into thinking that is the only place he played. You can bet that Moneymaker honed his skills in many a basement playing low stakes games, learning how to read the other card players. Texas Hold-em is a game that was intended to be played in person, putting you face to face with your competition.

If you are looking for a live game, check around your area. Many athletic clubs and schools sponsor tournaments as fundraisers, giving you a chance to see how you match up against people face to face. If you belong to an Eagles club or VFW Post, find out it other members there are interested in starting a game. You might even be able to talk your organization into sponsoring a tournament; all you need are some cards, chips and poker tables to get started.

1.)	Avoid the weekends. You’d be amazed at how high hotels mark up their room prices on the weekends. A mid-week trip will save you tons of money and leave you with more in your wallet to spend on other things.
2.)	Utilize player’s clubs. Playing a casino can get you discounted or free hotel rooms for future visits. Sign up at every casino you visit. All the player’s clubs are free and the savings they can get you are amazing.
3.)	Avoid weeks of big conferences. When a huge conference comes to town, Las Vegas room prices shoot up and availability shrivels. Good luck finding a hotel room during these times. One conferences to especially watch out for is a computer convention called Comdex. Comdex takes place in mid to late November.
4.)	Your hotel will usually grant you a cheaper or free room if you also play their casinos.
5.)	For budget travelers, check out the Imperial Palace. The Palace is conveniently located on the middle of the strip and their room rates are reasonable. Their table minimums are also low. For a budget Vegas casino vacation, it can’t be beat.
6.)	If you’re looking for the ultimate Vegas splurge vacation, book a room or suite at the luxorious Palace Tower or Caesar’s Palace.
7.)	Circus Circus is a family-friendly hotel that is also budget-friendly. Your kids would also love the higher-priced Treasure Island or Excalibur hotels.
8.)	Look for remote check-in kiosks at your airport. If your hotel is the Paris, New York New York, MGM Grand, Flamingo, Hilton, Caesar’s Palace, or other leading hotels, you should be able to check in right from the airport. You can get your room key at designated airport registration desks. When you finally arrive at your hotel, there’s no need to stand in check-in lines. You can proceed directly to your hotel room.

Most people make an extensive budget for Las Vegas vacations. They make a long list of possible expenditures that include food, hotel, travel, shows, and casino gambling money. Unfortunately, most people usually forget to include one very important expenditure: tipping. A huge majority of Las Vegas service employees work for tips. Budget for them now to prevent embarrassing shortcomings later. Here are some tips to help you navigate the complicated world of tipping in Las Vegas.

1.)	Always have small bills on you. Nothing’s more embarrassing than finding yourself in a situation where you should tip a service employee and you only have a wallet full of twenty dollar bills. Do not punish the person working for your tips just because you forgot. Many employees work for tips alone.
2.)	Don’t make your dealers or cocktail waitresses suffer because of your bad luck. No matter how bad of a hand you were dealt, they were not responsible for your bad luck and they will not receive anything from the house’s win.
3.)	Tip your dealers five dollars an hour. If you’ve just won big, some people like to give 10% of their earnings, too.
4.)	Cocktail waitresses should receive a dollar for every drink or two they bring you. If you’re running her pretty hard with all your drink demands, raise the tip to two dollars a drink.
5.)	Some people have had good luck at the slot machines by asking the change attendants or slot attendants which machines are “loose.” Remember, they’re the ones that spend eight hours a day with those machines. If you win because of their suggestion, tip them. If you’re a big winner, tip them well.
6.)	Maids should receive a tip every day. Do not leave a big package at the end of your stay because you may have a different maid every day. Leave your daily tip in a marked envelope to avoid confusion.

For many of us, the thought of heading to the local casino for a few rounds of raising the stakes seems fairly benign. Others with a gambling addiction should avoid it at all costs. For addicts, entering the casino can blur the distinction between pure entertainment and a real problem.

While there is no specific causation that leads to gambling addiction, hereditary depression is one of the dilemmas thought to play a part in some people. Those suffering from depression can panic and may gamble to achieve immediate gratification. Consequently, addicts tend to associate monetary payout (when earnings accrue) and the adrenaline rush with personal happiness, rather than a temporary fixation.

Social ineptitude might be an additional factor that provokes negative financial predilections like gambling addiction. While much of our population thrives on the friendships that social interaction can provide some who gamble are uncomfortable with the intimate nature of human communication. For the latter, this outlet is often a means of escape.

There are some of us who feel certain that the proverbial gold treasure is just around the corner. As a result, these people can be lured into playing beyond their financial means when the “endless” winning streak is in sight. Participants may think that “one more pull of the lever” and financial freedom is on the horizon. This is one of the reasons some addicts choose to repeat financial faux pas by playing the slots.

Ultimately, with the saturation of varied forms of gambling it’s probably best to have a few friends among us who have strong voices of reason. They can help provide an objective prospective and serve as our conscience. Merely observing the consequences while they unfold may not be enough motivation to stop gambling. Hearing logical thoughts from those we respect can make the difference between entertainment and financial ruin.

While many might not assert that they have a full-blown and injurious gambling addiction, outside observers can assess a problem at the very least. Although individuals might put a wager on horse racing once every other year, an underlying difficulty with gambling can still exist. A problem presents itself if bill payments cannot be made because of a bet, or when the duration of a horse racing event takes away valuable family time.

It’s important to comprehend that not all measures of gambling help will be successful for everyone, but complete inaction is an enemy. Initially, we must be able to admit when we have a problem. Otherwise, nothing will be advantageous toward reversing the gambling issue.

One available method of support is Gambler’s Anonymous, which involves a 12-step program. Participants who attend the meetings will be able to enlist the help of a sponsor. Each of the sponsors have also enrolled in and completed the program, which makes them an essential part of the healing process for those who are currently experiencing financial quandaries. Whether people are addicts or sporadic gamblers, it may be advisable to avoid the activity altogether.

Another option to consider is therapeutic intervention which involves the reintroduction of personal values and to choose other means of stress relief. A licensed professional can try to help the sufferer reduce the need to gamble by discussing the initial reasons for the behavior, redefining acceptable feelings and coping with hardships more effectively.

To sustain appropriate behaviors that we learn in order to try avoid gambling, consider leaving most sources of money at home and have someone help with personal finances. Additionally, immersing in sports and other fun activities can ward off the urge to gamble. Make use of the telephone and call a close friend or family member whenever the desire to spend money is unbearable. Remember to avoid slot machines and card games, since this is an important means of maintaining sobriety.

Gambling has been a means of entertainment for thousands of years, but these days some of us take measures to avoid it being an addiction in the long run. We don’t have to exhibit signs of addiction to desire terminating a gambling activity. If you plan to visit the casino, it can be helpful to accompany a group of friends who will help us set a spending limit.

Be realistic regarding the funds you are able to do without. Consider bringing only a few dollars with us whether you will be gambling during a round of poker or visiting the slot machines. Leave all credit cards at home to ensure that when cash runs out, you’ll be exiting the casino.

Remember that there are usually more odds of losing money, rather than acquiring a profit. Even if people can afford to spend abundant wads of money, frivolity can be overrated and casinos will always have their methods or remaining financially stable. As a general consensus, if we unexpectedly win money we should use discretion and stop gambling since it’s better to be a dollar ahead than a dollar short.

If we proceed with gambling alone on occasion and frequent a particular casino, some of us might find that talking to a well-known card dealer about our funding limits helps to discontinue undesired overspending. Additionally, some games such as slot machines, keno and roulette typically require very little money to play. While gambling presents certain financial risks, the amount of risk can be lessened by contemplating what activity we engage in.

Whatever game is chosen it’s important to contact a friend and make arrangements to do something else when you tread rising water. So prior to a gambling excursion, decide what amount of time you’re willing to devote to it. Stick to any agreements made with yourself or others.

Gambling statistics suggest that 75 percent of the United States makes lotteries readily available to the general public. Purchasing lottery tickets has become as commonplace as buying the week’s groceries. Participating in a lottery has sparked some intrigue because it offers an opportunity (albeit slim) for more money. It may be plausible to say that poorer people would like a financial hiatus while richer socioeconomic classes might seek monetary security for their family’s future.

Approximately 90 percent of adults residing in the United States placed wagers via sports gambling, assorted card games or slot machines within the past year. Although this does not signify definite addiction, the interest in gambling has increased dramatically during recent years. For some the chances of winning may be nothing but delayed disappointment but in the eyes of others, their financial futures are envisioned more vividly.

Wagers among young people are on the rise. Some of the most alarming gambling statistics suggests that nearly half of all 15 and 16-year-olds have gambled more than once. It’s been implied that approximately 80 percent of 18-year-olds spend money as frequently as legal adults who gamble.

There are millions of accessible gambling sites available on the Internet. Within the United States alone such sites can be run without proper licensing states in certain territories. With this in mind, some popular search engines containing advertisements to gaming websites have been removed. Others are added easily and regularly, which still permits illegal gambling activities. In fact gambling over the computer has grown twice as popular each year since the late 1990′s.

Over half of all gambling addicts are likely to carry out petty theft and other crimes in order to support spending habits. Many believe that general crime rates have doubled where casinos exist.

When gambling, remember that it is a privilege and not a right in some countries. Money only has value in an earthly realm. Enjoy it, but don’t fight too hard.
